Nelle ultime ore sono rimbalzati in rete tantissimi rumors e news sul sequel di Twin Peaks in lavorazione alla Showtime.

Ecco come stanno le cose. Lynch ha ufficialmente lsciato il progetto, come annunciato sul suo profilo Facebook ufficiale, perché Showtime non avrebbe stanziato un budget sufficiente a consentire di sviluppare la sceneggiatura come il regista vorrebbe:

Entertainment Weekly riporta però che la produzione andrà comunque avanti anche senza Lynch che, secondo i programmi iniziali, avrebbe dovuto dirigere i 9 episodi della nuova serie. 

A conferma di ciò, ecco un comunicato stampa di Showtime rilasciato da Indiewire:  

We were saddened to read David Lynch’s statement today since we believed we were working towards solutions with David and his reps on the few remaining deal points. Showtime also loves the world of Twin Peaks and we continue to hold out hope that we can bring it back in all its glory with both of its extraordinary creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, at its helm.
